Ring Size Tips

A comfortable ring should pass over the knuckle with light resistance and sit securely at the base of the finger without pinching. Use these tips to make your measurement more consistent.

Measure the exact finger

Measure the finger you intend to wear the ring on. The same finger can measure differently on your left and right hand.

Measure at a normal temperature

Cold can temporarily make fingers smaller, while heat, exercise, or swelling can make them larger. Measure when your hands feel normal and comfortable.

Check more than once

Take the measurement more than once, ideally at different times of day. A result that repeats consistently is more useful than a single measurement.

Make sure the ring passes the knuckle

If your knuckle is noticeably wider than the base of your finger, choose a size that can pass over the knuckle comfortably while still sitting securely once in place.

Consider the width of the band

Wide bands, stacked rings, and many eternity styles can feel tighter than a slim band in the same nominal size. If you are between sizes, the larger size can be more comfortable for a wider design.

If you are between sizes

Avoid forcing the smaller size simply because it feels more secure. The ring should be comfortable throughout normal daily changes in finger size while still resisting accidental slipping.

Compare with a ring you already own
